Steve Mainero

Steve Mainero is the author of seven books (three of which have won Children’s Book Awards).

He is the father of four, grandfather of eight and avid animal lover. Over the years, he has had multiple dogs, horses, cats, birds and gerbils. He believes strongly in the unspoken bonds created between animals and humans. He has often said the animal world has so much to teach humanity about love, caring and happiness. He and his wife live in North Carolina.

As a writer, he believes strongly in using the power of the word to bring happiness to others — especially children. When he writes, he sees and feels the impact of each word on the reader, and delights in using the right one to convey a scene or bring a smile.

He writes each book to entertain, educate and enlighten children to life’s lessons.
